Strange Technology
I found this old sliderule in a box of stuff and thought it deserved to be captured. This was something my father owned and used once upon a time.
I was hoping to capture the lines and reflections on it, but I need to spend some more time working on getting the right DOF for the photograph. I took several and this is the only one that turned out fairly well.
I also need to work on the light so that there is a nice reflection on the metal but the glass is transparent. Also would help to clean it up a little more so there isn’t gunk on the glass.

You may be interested to know there are many of us who fondly remember the old “slip sticks.” The Oughtred Society (www.oughtred.org) is made up of slide rule collectors. Their semiannual journal is full of excellent photographs and the editor, Robert Otnes, could give you some tips on photographing your rule.
